Our Power, Our Planet

Celebrate Earth Day with Triton College’s Greening the Campus Committee through its Earth Day photography contest, “Our Power, Our Planet.” This contest aims to inspire awareness and action by encouraging participants to explore choices and innovations that support a more sustainable planet. Express your creativity and appreciation for Earth!

The winner will earn a prize and be featured at the One Earth Film Festival on Friday, April 24. All submissions are due by Friday, April 10.

About the Contest: This contest is designed to inspire awareness and motivate others to take action for a cleaner, more sustainable world. Everyone has the power to make a positive environmental impact.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Open to artists of all ages and skill levels
  • Submissions must depict a photograph of what “Our Power, Our Planet” means to them.
  • All art must be original
  • Images must meet the following technical requirements:
    • jpg format
    • Maximum file size of 8 MB
    • Images should not contain any watermarks, texts, logos, borders or other marks that identify the photographer
    • AI images are not eligible
    • Normal processing of the original file is acceptable, including cropping, minor adjustments to color, white balance, lighting levels and curves, shadows and highlights, saturation contrast and sharpness, removal of dust spots and moderate reduction of image noise, HDR frame stacking and stitched panoramas.

All entries MUST include: Last Name, First Name.  By submitting your artwork, you consent to our Art Contest Release: I (legal guardian if under 18 years old) warrant that the submission of art and photography is original and is not otherwise encumbered by copyright restrictions.  When submitting materials to the Greening the Campus (GCC) Pollinator Art Contest, I (legal guardian if under 18 years old) warrant that GCC has the right to display the art in the One Earth Film Festival.  Designation of winners and winning level is entirely subject to GCC choice without debate.  GCC has rights to share the art on GCC’s website, marketing, social media, and other communication channels.  Artist still holds all rights to their artwork. However, aside from awards to winners for final selection display in the 2026 One Earth Film Festival, GCC will be released from payments for use of this work, which will be posted for free on GCC’s website and social media.
