You may be eligible to attend Triton College at no cost this fall.
This year, the State of Illinois has put $100 million more dollars into the MAP grant to ensure every working-class student can attend community college tuition free. The only way to find out if you can come to Triton for free is to file the FAFSA.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) offers two types of grants: the Pell grant (a federal grant) and the MAP grant (a state grant). Grants are not loans. You do not pay the money back.
Approximately 1/3 of our students who submit a FAFSA will get college for free. Even if you don't get classes entirely for free, you will likely get money to put towards your tuition costs. This is money you do not pay back.
To check your eligibility, please complete the following steps:
Complete a Triton College Application for Admission. You must provide your social security number on the admissions application to link to the FAFSA.
For questions relating to the Admissions application, please email Admissions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov. The Triton College school code is 001773 and it takes 3 business days for the school to receive the application once completed.
For questions relating to the FAFSA and Financial Aid, please email the Financial Aid Office at email@example.com.
Log in to your MyTriton Portal at Student/FinancialAid/AwardLetter to view your award letter for the 2023/24 academic year. In some instances, additional documentation may be needed after receiving the FAFSA to receive your award letter.
