Pride Month 2023

June is Pride Month! Each year, Pride Month observes the impact lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual and more (LGBTQIA+) individuals have had throughout history on local, national and international levels. Pride Month began as “Gay Pride Day,” a celebration to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York City, the catalyst of the gay rights movement. “Gay Pride Day” eventually became a month-long series of events such as parties, lectures, parades, workshops, concerts and events throughout the month of June, eventually culminating into “Pride Month.”
