Barber Certificate

The purpose of the Barber Certificate is to provide entry-level employment training in the Barber profession.

The Barber Certificate offers students a comprehensive education in the art and science of barbering. Techniques in shaving, facial hair design, haircutting and styling, facial massage, chemical services, and shop management prepare students for state certification, Illinois Licensed Barber, from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to apply for the Illinois Licensed Barber examination. The Barber certificate requires the completion of 50 credit hours in the barber courses.
