A newly signed agreement between Triton College and Elmhurst College will allow students to easily transfer credits from Triton to Elmhurst, where they can complete their bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting. Leaders from both schools gathered at Triton’s River Grove campus on Wednesday, April 11, to sign the agreement, which will benefit students from throughout the Chicagoland area and beyond.

Under the agreement, Elmhurst College will guarantee acceptance of Triton College students with an Associate of Arts degree, who may transfer up to 70 credits hours beginning in the fall 2018 semester. That includes a required 25 semester hours of accounting or business administration course credits that could be applied toward the requirements of the respective Bachelor of Science degrees.

The program, known as a ‘2 + 2 Articulation Agreement,’ is designed for students to earn both an associate and bachelor’s degree within four years. The first two years of a student’s education will take place at Triton, and the final two years will be at Elmhurst. Under the agreement, students must meet the admissions requirements of both schools. Both institutions will provide advisors to assist each student in planning their program of study.

“The Triton College School of Business has reached another milestone event tonight with our partners from Elmhurst College as we sign the Enhanced 2 + 2 Articulation Agreement,” said Dr. William Griffin, department coordinator, Triton College School of Business. “The agreement provides a seamless pathway for our Associate of Arts students studying Accounting or Business Administration. This cooperative relationship between the two institutions will better accommodate our students’ degree completion program.”

“It’s really about reaching out to students and finding out their needs, and how we as administrators and faculty members can provide opportunities for them to reach their full potential through the academic excellence that is offered at both Elmhurst College and Triton College,” said Dr. Troy D. VanAken, Elmhurst College President.
