Financial Aid for Ukrainian Citizens in the United States
Per US Department of Education guidelines, Ukrainian citizens, nationals, and other persons who last resided in Ukraine and were paroled to the United States (under Uniting for Ukraine, or U4U) may be eligible to complete a FAFSA and receive federal financial aid, depending on their status.

Individuals who are Ukrainian citizens, nationals, or last resided in Ukraine are recommended to request a copy of their I-94 record from the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol. The I-94 record will often, but not always note UHP (Ukrainian Humanitarian Parole) as the “Class of Admission”. I-94 must be current and not have expired. If your Parole status is expiring please visit Re-Parole Process for Certain Ukrainian Citizens and Their Immediate Family Members for more information on next steps.

UHP individuals may also have one or more of the following, which is helpful documentation for verifying status and eligibility for federal aid through the FAFSA.

  • Paper Form I-94 with a UHP Class of Admission;
  • Foreign passport with parole stamp that includes a UHP Class of Admission; or
  • Form I-766, Employment Authorization Document (EAD) with a C11 category, if they have applied for and received one
  • I-131 Approval Notice with a Class: UHP

For further information please visit Parole Under Uniting for Ukraine.

Once you have your documentation, please complete the FAFSA. Triton College Financial Aid Office can assist you with completing the FASFA in our office to begin the process to determine eligibility for financial aid.
